Skerries Photography Group - Some Background.

The Group was (re)formed in 1999 with the help and encouragement of the Community and Culture Department of Fingal County Council, in particular "Fingal Arts". Our aims are to promote photography in the community, to provide a forum for discussing ideas and exchanging information on the subject of photography, and to use the medium of photography to forge links with other groups both nationally and internationally.
We organise talks and workshops on all aspects of photography. We also participate in photography exhibitions nationally and internationally, and stage exhibitions of members' work.
Our meetings take place from 8 pm on last Monday of each month (except in the summer), in the Rugby Club, Skerries, Co. Fingal, North Dublin. New members are always welcome!
For the future, we hope to increase our membership while providing an atmosphere where we can help each other improve our skills. Ideally, we would like to get our own darkroom and room for meetings, but that will take some time and, of course, money. Meantime, we intend to make the most of whatever opportunities are available, taking photos and having fun!

If you're interested in joining the group, or would just like to find out more about us, please drop in on one of our next meetings. If you'd like to be informed of updates of this site, or of upcoming events, send an email to the webmaster at skerries.photo@cognition.ie, and you'll be added to our mailing list.
