Skerries Photography Group: Exhibitions.
Skerries: The big mill. © S.Gunther 2002. Many of our local exhibitions take place in Skerries Mills. In 2003, the topic was Travels with my Camera . In March 2002, as part of Fingal Photofest 2002, a celebration of international photography, the group exhibited in the foyer of the Mills' visitor center. As Skerries Photography Group, we were showcasing works by our members, as well as entries to our 2001 open competition, "A Day in the Life of Skerries." Some of the entries of the 2001 competition.

The Local Life Album Project

We have participated in a very exciting project, the Local Life Album. Fingal County Council's Community Department had asked all photography clubs in Fingal to put together a photo album which shows life in their area in 2002. All albums were submitted to Fingal County Council and ours won the third prize! (First and second prizes went to Swords and Blanchardstown - well done!) The awards for this project were presented by the Cathaoirleach of Fingal County Council on 12 November 2002. You can now see the album at Skerries library.

If you're interested in joining the group, or would just like to find out more about us, please drop in on one of our next meetings.
If you'd like to be informed of updates of this site, or of upcoming events, send an email to the webmaster at skerries.photo@cognition.ie , and you'll be added to our mailing list.
